I get it. A lot of people are disappointed. I’ve been there, and I’ve been disappointed, too. But the constant stream of inanities, from emails to Hillary Clinton’s undergraduate love life, seem calculated, not to inform, nor even to protest, but just to test the bounds of moderators’ ability to bojo people fast enough.
And then, flying just beneath the blatant garbage, we start to get a peek into something just a bit uglier.
We had another one of those “well meaning” diaries this morning, about just what Clinton must do to “earn” the loyalty of Sanders supporters, entitled, “8 Simple Ways Hillary Can Bring Bernie Supporters into the Fold.” Some attempts were made at give-and-take with the diarist, until we got here:
First of all, I don't really think Sanders has been that dirty. Most of his supporters think he has been less strong than he should have. He mostly talks about policy and former votes and her super pacs i think that is fair game. I know if it was me going up against Hillary I'd be talking about whitewater, Walmart, Tyson, and mena. But I'm an Arkansan. I know exactly what he and her did here and those messages would hit better with Arkansans maybe than the nationwide electorate.
and then:
Oh and I'd push about her connections to the Arkansas democratic party and ask her why they decided to make arrangements to not run opposition candidates against several GOP Congressmen in the state for 2012 and 2014. Not to mention the arrest if the recent head of the party in a quid for qo political scandal. I think there's a lot of dirty stuff in the Arkansas democratic party: one of the most corrupt in the nation, that could reflect poorly on her and no one has ever touched on it this election.
As I said, FFS.
