"Build a wall and Crime will fall"

"Build a wall and crime will fall" is Trump's new slogan. What people don't know is that this is just a snippet from a lesser known Dr. Suess story:

A man came to town,
Who seemed like a clown,
We laughed and we jeered,
Then somebody cheered,
and he ended up wearing a crown.

The story is old,
It's been many times told,
But it's hard to see,
When the the victim is thee,
and then, without warning, you're sold.

He claimed to speak for all of us,
He shouted and waved and raised such a fuss,
Many had doubt,
While others would shout,
"He'll put all of THEM on a bus!"

He rallied his throng,
And said "you belong,"
while he aimed stubby fingers at others,
His followers raged,
They wanted THEM caged,
and then they forgot we're all brothers.

"Build a wall and crime will fall"
Was this flim-flam man's new call,
His people all roared,
And his followers soared,
While the rest of us felt such a pall.

The wall, he had said,
Would go up before bed,
And would not cost us two dollars.
THOSE people would pay,
Is what he would say,
And his followers answered with hollers.

But then he met Nancy,
Intelligent, Fancy,
And he had no idea what to do.
She simply said "no!"
"That wall will not grow."
And he whined and he called her a shrew.

Nancy was clever,
Her hand on the lever,
The man couldn't bully or bluster.
He finally backed down,
And threw down his crown,
And stomped 'round the room in a fluster.

"You can't give your speech."
He let out a screech,
But she simply refused to back down.
He whined and he stomped,
He fussed and he clomped,
And he looked, once again, like that clown.
